PARENTING RESOURCES

Parenting for a Peaceful World by Robin Grille
An essential companion for the "natural parent," Parenting for a Peaceful World is a fascinating look at how child-rearing customs have shaped societies and major world events. It reveals how children adapt to different parenting styles and describes how these early experiences underpin the adults they become.

This wide-ranging book draws on revolutionary new research to argue that the safeguarding of children's emotional development is the key to creating a more peaceful and harmonious world. Parenting for a Peaceful World is for parents, child health professionals, teachers, and for adults learning to be whole again.

The Repeal 43 Committee
The Repeal 43 Committee is a national, voluntary committee of lawyers, pediatricians, social workers and educators formed in 1994 to advocate repeal of section 43 of the Criminal Code. We promote the raising of children in a positive, non-violent manner and our vision is to end physical punishment of children in Canada.  As of March 2015 there are 40 countries that have banned the physical punishment of children, Canada is not one of these.

Aware Parenting Institute
Aware Parenting is a philosophy of child-rearing that has the potential to change the world. Based on cutting-edge research and insights in child development, Aware Parenting questions most traditional assumptions about raising children, and proposes a new approach that can profoundly shift a parent's relationship with his or her child. Parents who follow this approach raise children who are bright, compassionate, competent, non-violent, and drug-free.  Aware Parenting is based on the work of Dr. Aletha Solter.
